Siddharth Wadennavar was born in a nomadic family at Kurani village, Hukkeri taluk, Belagavi district. Till he reached the age of 18, he had to face severe hardship, struggling on occasions even for two square meals in a day. He completed primary and higher secondary education at Kurani village and obtained graduate and postgraduate degrees from the Karnatak University, Dharwad. He grew up under the aegis of his uncle.

Siddharth joined Satish Sugars in 2000. After working in the company in various positions, he was chosen to the post of company Director in 2013. In 2015, he was hand-picked to the position of the Managing Director of Satish Sugars Ltd. and Belagavi Sugars Pvt. Ltd.

A voracious reader, Siddharth Wadennavar has read a large number of insightful books related to religion, god, meditation, spirituality and politics. His writings have been published in a trimonthly. Recently, he has authored People’s Chanakya, a book meant for aspiring political and social leaders.

Siddharth played a pivotal role in the construction of a huge sugar plant in a record span of 11 months. Bharatheeya Sugars, Pune, has conferred on him ‘Best MD Karnataka State 2016-17’ award, a prestigious award given to those who make a significant contribution to the sugar industry and the MRN Foundation, Bagalkot, has conferred “Samajseva Ratna award – 2017.” This award is given to those who make a contribution in Industrial sector.

Siddharth Wadennavar’s transformation from being someone who was employed to harvest sugarcane as a daily-wager in 1990 to becoming the Managing Director of a major sugar company having an annual turnover of Rs. 600 crore is an inspiring example for today’s youth. Being at the helm of affairs of a huge company comprising 2,000 staff and influencing 25,000 farmer families and 20,000 daily-wagers, has given Siddharth Wadennavar clear insights into the feelings and difficulties of people from different walks of life.

Siddharth dedicates his debut book to the people of Karnataka.
